Last checked September 20, 2026. ShipStation pricing is based largely on shipment volume and plan level. For Shopify merchants, the key question is not only the monthly subscription: it is whether automation, multi-channel order management and carrier access save enough time or postage to justify the fee.
ShipStation pricing at a glance
ShipStation’s official pricing page currently shows Starter pricing of $14.99/month for up to 50 shipments, $29.99 for 100, $39.99 for 500, $79.99 for 1,000, $119.99 for 2,000 and $174.99 for 5,000 shipments. Higher-volume Standard tiers are also available. Annual billing can reduce the effective monthly cost, and pricing can vary by country.

What you are paying for
Starter includes core shipping functions such as store connections, rate shopping, return labels, basic automations, reporting and support. The practical value rises when a merchant manages orders from more than one sales channel or repeatedly performs the same fulfillment steps.
When ShipStation can make sense
It is worth testing when your operation has enough orders that manual label creation is becoming a bottleneck, you sell across multiple marketplaces, or you need rules and automations that reduce fulfillment time. At very low volume, a free shipping tool or Shopify’s built-in workflow can be more economical.
Do not compare subscription price alone
A $15 or $40 monthly app can be inexpensive if it saves hours of work, but an apparently cheap plan can still be poor value if the carrier mix or workflow does not fit your store. Compare label rates using your own package sizes and destinations before switching.
