Updated September 2026: You can advertise some Forex and related financial products on Google Ads, but this is a restricted category. Rolling spot forex, CFDs, financial spread betting and similar products fall under Google’s Complex speculative financial products policy. Advertising is only allowed in eligible locations when the advertiser is appropriately licensed, complies with local law and has the required Google certification.
This means the answer is not simply “yes, Google allows Forex ads.” Eligibility depends on the product, advertiser type and country being targeted.
What Google considers complex speculative financial products
Google specifically includes contracts for difference (CFDs), financial spread betting, rolling spot forex (FX) and related speculative products in this category. The advertiser must generally be a licensed provider or eligible aggregator, target a permitted location and receive Google approval.
Official policy: Complex speculative financial products.
2026 certification process
Google changed the certification workflow in 2026. Applications for complex speculative financial products are now handled through the Google Ads account rather than the old Help Center flow. In eligible accounts, look under Admin → Policy → Account for certification options.
Certification does not replace licensing. You still need to satisfy the financial regulator and legal requirements for each location you target.
Who should not assume they are eligible?
- Unlicensed brokers or trading platforms.
- Lead-generation sites that do not fit Google’s permitted aggregator criteria.
- Signal providers promoting specific trade instructions where the policy prohibits such destinations.
- Advertisers targeting countries where the product is not eligible.
- Websites making guaranteed-return or unrealistic profit claims.
Forex education and training
Educational content is not automatically treated the same as a regulated broker, but the landing page and business model still matter. A course that teaches market concepts is different from a site that sells trading signals, routes users to speculative products or makes earnings promises. Review the destination as a whole—not just the ad copy.
Financial-services verification can also apply
Separate from product certification, Google may require Financial Services Verification in certain target markets. Google expanded verification requirements to additional European Economic Area markets in 2026. If Google requests verification, complete it for the relevant jurisdiction before expecting campaigns to serve normally.
Campaign structure for an eligible Forex advertiser
1. Separate brand, product and educational intent
Do not mix generic educational searches with account-opening or trading-intent keywords in one ad group. Separate them so messaging, compliance and landing pages remain clear.
2. Match each ad to the licensed offer
The product in the ad should match what the licensed business is actually authorized to provide. Avoid implying that approval in one country gives permission to advertise everywhere.
3. Avoid unrealistic financial claims
Do not promise guaranteed profit, low-risk income, “easy money,” unrealistic returns or outcomes that cannot be substantiated. Financial claims are especially sensitive under Google’s Misrepresentation and Unreliable Claims policies.
4. Make risk and business information visible
Use transparent business identity, regulator/license information where applicable, clear fees, risk disclosures, terms and accessible contact details. The landing page should make it obvious who operates the service.
5. Track meaningful conversions
For a broker, a raw form submission is not necessarily a qualified acquisition. Where legally and technically appropriate, import qualified account openings, funded accounts or other downstream outcomes so Smart Bidding is not optimizing toward low-quality leads.
Forex Google Ads checklist for 2026
- Identify the exact financial product being promoted.
- Confirm the target country is eligible.
- Confirm the business holds the required local license.
- Complete Google certification through the Ads account where required.
- Complete Financial Services Verification if requested.
- Audit claims, risk disclosures, fees and landing-page transparency.
- Separate educational and transaction-oriented campaigns.
- Implement accurate conversion tracking.
- Review policy status before scaling spend.
What about cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency uses a separate Google policy and certification framework. Do not assume that Forex certification covers crypto exchanges, wallets or coin trusts. I maintain a separate guide for Google Ads for crypto.
Final takeaway
Forex advertising on Google in 2026 is possible only for eligible products, locations and advertisers. Treat policy approval as part of campaign setup—not something to solve after launch. If the underlying business is not licensed or the targeted product/location is not permitted, changing ad copy will not make the campaign compliant.
