If you’re expecting that I’ll refer to Udemy or Coursera at the end of the article, then you’ll be surprised that I have much more to say about online course enrollment. I can promise that after reading this article, you’ll be compelled to think about doing an online course.
A vast majority of people who don’t work online as well as who work online think that online courses might not help much and one shouldn’t be spending money on the courses. The simple answer to such a theory is that people who enroll in their first course, they always go for the next one. The reason is simple, they get access to the knowledge that is not publicly available. So nobody who hasn’t taken any online course could tell you that online courses won’t help. However, it’s possible that some specific courses won’t be worth spending money, but at the end of the day, reviews and goodwill would tell you everything about any course.
How to Enroll in An Online Course :
In this article, you’re going to learn how to enroll in an online course in 2019 in three steps:
Figure out your interest
Without knowing what kind of education or awareness you want to get, you can’t get through this. It’s not a complicated thing to understand that what kind of interest you have. It is something only you can answer. Just think about the following things:
- What you always wanted to be
- What you want to see yourself in the future
- What kind of topics you like to read about
- What you’re good at
- What specific problems your friends discuss with you
A lot of people don’t figure out that they’re either good at something or they have an interest to pursue. Figure that out because that’s strength that you can further polish to make an impact. For example, a blogger who wants to be a successful internet marketer can enroll into a digital marketing course.
Without knowing what you like or what you want to achieve, you can’t move forward to the course enrollment.
Survey to Find the Best Course
I don’t say to spend three months surveying to find the best course. But don’t just read one article and get enrolled the next day to the course on a popular site you just heard lately. There is a very simple method of surveying about the course. You should do following things:
- Find the articles related to your topic
- Keep an eye on the course clues in the articles
- Search directly on the reputed course sites
- Watch relevant videos on YouTube to find any reference to the course
- Ask for recommendations on Facebook, especially in groups
- Use the right twitter hashtag to find the right course
Don’t rush to get enrolled. At least, spend a week or so to find the best course in terms of quality, price, and contents.
Check Reviews and Testimonials
It is always better to find out the reviews and testimonials about any book or course you’re going to purchase. A lot of people share their experience after buying a book or course. It could be a YouTube video, a Slideshare presentation, or a written review. Try to find out the reviews using the simple formula in Google: Course Name + Review
Similarly, the testimonials are important as well. You would find a lot of authors publish testimonials in the book. A lot of companies use online testimonials on their websites and landing pages to ensure the prospective clients that industry’s experts or existing clients are happy with their product.
So don’t ignore the reviews and testimonials. Instead, go out to check these.
